For every release of  a new project/features - we have seen, documentation of feature for Customers and Internal Team members. When, the documentation is released by Technical Writer, do the following: Check for spellings and Grammar. Check for Accuracy & completeness of document - Refer Development Specifications / Test Notes Test the examples, perform steps mentioned in document. If any changes need to be made, inform the team. * This post is referred from - learning of testers.

As like every skilled tester, whom I am inspired from, I got a question in my mind Why do they call us “QA – instead of Tester”? While I was reading a book, I have read – QA should not be called for Tester. I am a Tester. I test the code developed by programmers. Quality Assurance (QA) is not an individual responsibility, doesn't come from only a Tester. Quality is everybody’s business– from BA, developers, project managers, testers and finally it’s a whole organisation – who are responsible to improve the quality of the product and process by introduce methodology and technology that will make efforts more effective – the whole process is verified by Auditors to decide the level of the company and products. We testers don’t have control over the code written by programmers. We don’t own quality; we are just providing valuable information about state of the product. I think, in every organisation - there would be talks about Developer vs Tester and we have seen many cartoons on it. Here is one scenario, which is common between teams. I suppose Developer with " David " and Tester as " Tony ". These two persons have two years of experience in their respective roles. A day appeared, Tony logs a bug in bug triage based on the thinking, how system or application under test can fail and proceeds to next steps. Next moment, David marks as Not a Bug. Tony then meets David , and asks why did you mark it as "Not a Bug" and provide a justification for it. I spend most of the time reading testing articles, magazines, blogs / websites, newsletters, exploring new things.  Whenever I read/do, which helped me to learn and I do perform a quick actions in giving back a positive feedback, which might helpful to make a discussions and make a new learning from it.   Two years back, when I was writing my first feedback to a website, I was searching writing a feedback is good or bad. Thanks to Ravi Suriya ( Blog | Twitter ) and Jyothi Rangaiah ( Blog | Twitter ) .. we teamed out, to find the actual cause. Few things - I thought before we started: 1. Recently i wrote a post on " Zombie art secretly hidden in Android Gingerbread "..  For the post, Abhilash hari  ( Blog | Twitter ) , has posted a comment. As my comments are moderated and then posted on the blog on approval instead of letting spammers free. Abhilash has posted a comment to my post and It appeared fine in the mail. But, to my surprise : when i looked in the Blogpost.  The comment looks like this. I pinged Abhilash hari immediately, to ask him any reason behind it. I got to know from him as : "It might be a problem with Google Configuration with Blogger" . But said, to find out the answer.. Any solution to it ?

Google has shutdown its services of Google Reader, popular RSS subscription reader on July 1,2013. I took long time to research for the alternatives which can match my interests and give same ability of Google Reader. First, I found " Old Reader " - It was simple and looks like a Google Reader. But It has followed by outages for few days due to hard drives crashed. And they now planned to make it private from public. Second, " Feedly "   : It looked like No.1 Alternative in many websites. It is having good clean design with Magazine kind of layout. Now, Feedly announced Pro Accounts for $5 per month or $45 per year. Third, " Digg Reader ": Surprised the world with Simple interface and closely resembles the other feed readers. The following are some good practices, I have learnt for doing testing. Before you start the testing the product, Understand the product Architecture. Understanding the architecture and working of the product, can help you see more error prone areas and can cover large amount of errors in less time. The Error prone areas may mostly occurs on the interfaces between the different modules, as different programmers work on different modules in a product development. See the potential misuses and verify how the software works with those issues. If application is working perfectly as per it is intended, then don’t stop the testing. To write a good test cases, a tester needs a good reference, which is requirements (functional or design) specification documents. Using this, we measure the quality of the test done on software, whether it reached the goal of the requirements specified by the client. The specifications can make tester’s job easier and client also saves time – money, helping in building a good product. But today, sadly, testing is not considered during the documentation.           The behaviour of software application many be affected by many factors.
